The Dragon Fruit, Pitaya, Pitajón, Yaurero and Warakko, is an aromatic pulp fruit full of seeds that derives from cacti plants. There are two varieties: yellow and red (known as "pitahaya").
The yellow variety: It is thorny and it growns in tropical and tropical highlands of Ecuador. It can be found in the market from January to March. It measures about 9 centimeters long and about 7 centimeters wide. It is green and turns yellow when it gets mature.
